- In the pre-WWII, Japanese architects had learned new movement in Europe and introduced eagerly their ideas, also set up organization such Nippon International Kenchiku-kai (Japan International Architectural Group). The chair of the group, Isaburo Ueno who invited German architect, Bruno Taut, designed this house. The characteristics of design is no decorative facades in composing cubic box, emphasizing horizontal line with eaves on each spandrel, which might correspondent to Japanese climate condition. Ueno also designed lighting fits and chairs in the rooms.
