The National Museum of Western Art
- Category: Exhibition facility
- Architect: Le Corbusier
- Construction: Shimizu Corporation
- Year: 1959
- Location: Tokyo
- This is an important building as it is the sole work done in Japan by one of the few greatest architects of the 20th century, Le Corbusier. His Japanese apprentices, Junzo Sakakura, Kunio Mayekawa, and Takamasa Yoshizaka were known to give their help and assistance for the completion. This building reflects Le Corbusier’s architectural themes and polemics accumulated through his career in designing various museums and shows his maniera in assimilating a particularly Japanese context into his design.
